It records video, works as a replay device, it has full featured graphics overlays (text, crawls, tickers, video…), has DVEs, allows screen sketching and due to built-in video mixer you can simply switch between live inputs and replay players.
When you think about production it is very difficult to imagine it without a mixer. Our mixer application brings video inputs, file playout in a single file or playlist mode, file trimming, database, DVEs, audio mixer and graphics. It allows graphics overlays not only on preview and program outputs, but you can impose graphics on each input/playout channel independently. Whether you are a small studio or a big TV station, there is always a need to preview video sources. Nowadays it’s not enough to monitor SDI inputs, IP streams are a must as well. In addition to monitoring both input types, our multiviewer works as an audio mixer as well, allowing audio preview of any input source on the TV monitor. Closed captioning is not shown just an indicator showing whether CC is present or not, instead it is showing full CC text overlays. It also sends emails and displays visual as well as audio warnings in case of any issues with the input stream. And of course, multiple clocks can be added.
Recording and archiving your stations on-air output is of upmost importance for quality control. A plus would be the ability to export a portion of the recording, providing an easy way to send air proof to clients. X-keys and ControllerMate have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship, but, for a number of reasons, ControllerMate is no longer being supported. While we are actively looking for alternatives X-keys owners can use our USB keyboard and mouse emulation features in hardware mode. Setup and programming will need to be performed on a PC with our MacroWorks or X-keys Basic applications, but then the X- keys can be transferred to a Mac and it will reliably reproduce USB keyboard and/or mouse commands.
Download and install MacroWorks on a PC (or in a drive partitioning app like Boot Camp running Windows Vista or newer). When launching MacroWorks, select Hardware Mode programming. This will store keystrokes and/or mouse macros in the memory of the X- keys. After programming and writing the macros into the X- keys, move it to the Mac for operation (or reboot your system out of Boot Camp). NOTE: special keys like F13- F24 can be found under the Functions tab when programming a key and may be used in combination with modifier keys to avoid conflicts with default keyboard shortcuts.
